Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about ordering custom enamel pins, keychains and medals

How long does production take?

From approval of the technical drawing to delivery takes about 3 weeks, for pins, keychains and medals alike. We prepare the drawing within 2 days of you accepting the quote; how quickly you approve it is up to you, because production only starts once you have. The timeline in your client portal shows the same date.

What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ)?

There is no small-quantity surcharge. The most cost-effective minimum is 50 pieces, for pins, keychains and medals alike: the mould cost is fixed, so with fewer pieces it pushes the price per piece up sharply. Orders above 500 pcs qualify for volume discounts.

What materials and finishes are available?

Soft enamel, hard enamel and screen print on an iron or zinc-alloy base; we use the same techniques for pins and keychains. Medals are cast in base metal, with separate artwork for the front and the back. Plating: gold, silver, black nickel, rose gold, or a finish made specially for you.

How is the price calculated?

The price depends on the product (pin, keychain or medal), its size in millimetres, the quantity, the material and any extras, such as custom packaging. The order form gives you an initial estimate; our team confirms the binding quote after reviewing your design.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. We ship worldwide from our European distribution centre. Standard shipping covers most EU countries; for other destinations we offer tracked express courier delivery.

How do I place an order?

Click "Start designing", choose your product, upload your artwork or use the AI generator, fill in the production details and submit the form. Our team will check the design and send you a detailed quote within 24 hours.

What is the difference between soft enamel and hard enamel?

In soft enamel, the recessed areas are filled with enamel, so you can feel the texture; it works well for detailed designs. Hard enamel is polished flush with the metal for a smooth, jewellery-like finish with long-lasting colours. We use both techniques for pins and keychains.

Can I see the technical drawing before production starts?

Yes, for every product. Once you accept the quote, the factory prepares a technical drawing for you to approve. Production only starts after your approval, so the finished run matches exactly what you signed off.

How should I prepare my design so the factory can reproduce every detail?

Stick to the five minimum sizes set by our factory. Lines and colour areas: at least 0.25 mm in soft enamel and 0.35 mm in hard enamel. Cut-outs, gaps and holes: at least 2 mm in iron and 1.2 mm in zinc alloy. Text: letters at least 1 mm tall, ideally in a simple, bold sans-serif typeface. These rules apply to pins, keychains and medals alike. Any detail finer than these limits is adjusted by the factory on the technical drawing, which you approve before production starts.

How thin can lines and colour areas be?

In soft enamel the narrowest line or colour area is 0.25 mm; in hard enamel it is 0.35 mm. Anything narrower cannot be filled evenly with enamel: the colour may break up, stop short of the edge or smudge. The factory widens such spots, merges them with the neighbouring area or leaves them unfilled, and you will see every such change on the technical drawing before production starts.

How small can cut-outs, gaps and holes be?

In iron, cut-outs, gaps and holes must be at least 2 mm; in die-cast zinc alloy, at least 1.2 mm. Anything smaller cannot be punched or cast cleanly: the metal may bend or crack, the edges come out rough and snag, and in a casting some details simply do not form. The factory enlarges, merges or removes such features and shows the change on the technical drawing you approve before production. If your design has fine cut-outs, zinc alloy is the better choice.

How small can text be in my design?

Letters must be at least 1 mm tall. Smaller text blurs and distorts, so we cannot guarantee it will be legible. Small lettering works best in a simple, bold sans-serif typeface.

What enamel quality can I expect?

Our factory works to fixed quality standards. Soft enamel: a flat, evenly filled surface with no bubbles, specks, overflow or unevenness, a consistent shade, and sharp, clean edges with no bleeding or burrs. Hard enamel: vivid, full colour, a smooth surface with no pinholes or bumps, and well-defined metal lines that keep the colours cleanly apart. Pieces that fall short of these standards are treated as defective and reworked by the factory.
